Quality Time

"Quality Time" is another new print that made it's first appearance in the shop update yesterday. Thanks so much to everyone who stopped by! There are still lots of fun stuff left.

Yesterday we watched the season finale of Lost on our comfy new couch. And this weekend we are going to spend some "quality time" reorganizing the place now that we have added storage.

The Rose Festival is happening so I think we may go to see the fireworks tonight. And I'm *hoping* Sunday we can take a drive to the coast and spend the day.

Bearded guys with glasses, a lovely lady, and new prints! It's been a busy time in the studio over here. There is still one more print that will make an appearance at the shop update today.

Early this morning our IKEA home delivery came. Today we get to set up our new couch (in beige) and storage and other fun stuff. We put our little yellow couch on Freecycle, so it will have a new home today too. Busy day! I can't wait. : )

Wednesday Wednesday

Hello! First, how excited am I that this apple and company are moving to Portland? VERY. Emily, I think I am going to save going to Sock Dreams for the first time until you arrive. :)

Yesterday Drew and I had lunch with the oh-so-talented Matte Stephens and his lovely wife Vivienne. It was the first time I had seen his paintings in person and they are as amazing as they look online. I'm also thinking about stealing one of their cats. I'm talking it over with Isadora as I type this.

Today, if all goes as planned we are heading over to IKEA to buy some of the furniture we had our eye on. Eee! New couch. I can not wait!!

And that little guy above will be in the shop tomorrow at 2 pm CST for the update!!

In Time

Lots of bearded guys! I have to say this is my favorite batch so far. All the colors turned out sophisticated and fun, and the new addition of a background on several of them I really like. I'm also a fan of simplicity so there is no shortage of white backgrounds. I hope you like them too!

****Thursday May, 29 at 2 p.m. CST in the shop!****

After two days of no-shows, a cancellation, a rescheduling, two painters, boarding Isadora twice unnecessarily, having all our furntiure pushed tightly in the center of the rooms for a week, and lots of confusion (I have my fingers crossed tight) the apartment is going to be painted on Monday. I hope. I guess I'm just getting a taste of what home ownership would be like. And—ugghh.

Then onward to our new couch and installing stuff and having a more livable, functioning apartment!! Oh, I'll be so happy!

I hope everyone in the US has a fantastic holiday weekend! And everyone else has a fantastic weekend too. :)

A Look Only You Would Understand

As I mentioned, wedding season is upon us and I have couples on the brain. And I know it can be difficult to find an original and affordable wedding present or anniversary gift. So, I hope this helps. :)

It's perfectly chilly and gloomy here, which gets my creativity going. So back to work in the studio until evening. Tomorrow I will share some of the finished bearded guys.

Shop Update Coming Soon!!

Tis the season for Father's Day (in the US) and weddings. With that in mind, I am doing a shop update on Thursday, May 29 at 2 pm CST. Expect to see bearded guys (they haven't been around in a few months) and couples and of course some other prints. :)

I'm busy working on things for that very update and I will have some things to share over the next week.

Drew in the park

The weather has been warm (today it's rainy and cooled down quite a bit) but I am really thrilled to have a little park right across the street. When it has been too warm in our place we've brought fruit and books and sat in the shade.

I Woke Up This Morning and Found a Paperclip in my Hair.

And I don't even use those kind of paper clips. : (

Today we went to the Saturday Market and then to Cup and Saucer. (Soooo good)  It's really hot so some of the various apartment fix ups we had planned are on hold for a few days. The apartment is getting painted this week. I've been waiting to post apartment pics when I have before and afters.

It still feels like we're moving in. Every day there is more to get rid of and reorganizing. I think we are going to get this couch after the place is painted.

It's deep and comfy (with the Resmo mattress), pretty affordable, and turns into a queen bed. You can also purchase arm rests (which we will). And you can buy other cover colors. This is the couch I really want but it's GIANT and pricey, since I KNOW the cat will destroy the sides and throw up on it. Which brings us back to the Beddinge. If anyone has any experience with this couch please let me know what you think : )

Tinymeat, Urban Outfitters, and Me

Eep! Today I woke up to discover that Tinymeat's wallets are up on the Urban Outfitters web site! Viva la Tinymeat!! And I'm so delighted that one of them is ours. You can view all the wallets right here.

Aaaand, it just so happens that we are having dinner with Mikey and Mona of Tinymeat tonight. How perfect? They are also recent-ish transplants to Portland but not nearly as recent as us.

After two years Drew finally got a new sweatshirt (hoodie). His typical boy answer is, "But I already have one," but it was too big and weird and yes, I blame myself because I picked it up for him. BUT ladies, if you're looking to shove your boy in a cute sweatshirt I highly recommend this one. I've been trying to get him this one for months and months but now we live close to an AA. Although, trust me: American Apparel and I have our issues (American Apparel just doesn't know it).

Anywho, it's a shipping day. So that's what I'm off to do!

Even More Squirrel Goodness

So we made it to Powell's and I had to use a great deal of self control, since we just got rid of so many books before the move. BUT I could not resist this:
Really? REALLY!?! Perfection. True to its name, it is A Really Super Book About Squirrels.

Tomorrow we're heading up to Seattle for Emerald City Comicon. It will be Drew Heaven.

I haven't mentioned this yet, but Drew is one of the contributors to Comic Book Tattoo, an upcoming anthology from Image Comics based on the songs of Tori Amos. Drew wrote the piece and Kevin Mellon did the art. I'm really proud of him and I'm sure I will write more about this when the anthology is released (I believe in July).
