Shiver me timbers it's cold! These photo booth pictures are actually from about this time last year, but seeing as how I am in the exact same scarf and coat today, it seems appropriate.
There's been a lot of this going on around here:
The great canvas covering of yesterday continues today.
Along with this:
There is a delicious korma sauce at Trader Joe's that is pretty wonderful on steamed veggies (who needs rice?). I feel bad always being amazed by, and as a result talking about, Trader Joe's because I know a lot of cities still don't have it. And it's that feeling I get whenever someone talks about this or that from Ikea. What's that word? Aaaahh… jealousy. It's just so unfair not to have cheap, accessible furniture and housewares closer to me. I will just console myself with the fact that our thrift stores aren't too too too picked over yet. And I tell you, mid-century you want, mid-century you can get. It's like long, low credenza city around here. I bought mine – which by no means is perfect, but sturdy sturdy – for $40! And for that price, I am always on the hunt to upgrade.
Not to give any giant secret away, but sometimes I want to say "Hey guys, don't spend $1200 on that. Just come to St. Louis for a mini-vacation with a van and, tada – furniture!" I would be unstoppable (read "hoarder") if I had a van or truck.
